→ CLB 9 is the sweet spot
Moving from CLB 8 to CLB 9 adds ~32 CRS points per skill (128 pts total across 4 skills). The highest single ROI improvement in Express Entry.
→ Test both languages
If you speak French, test it too. Even CLB 7 French as a second language adds bonus CRS points. French speakers also qualify for dedicated lower cut-off draws.
→ CELPIP is Canada-specific
CELPIP is taken in Canada and scores are often more predictable than IELTS for Canadian applicants. Many find CLB 9 easier to achieve on CELPIP.
→ Results are valid 2 years
IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, and TCF results are valid for 2 years from the test date for most immigration programs. Plan your timing accordingly.
